A City Engagement and Beginning of a Blog
Well folks I finally did it. This blog has been way overdue!! I’ve been meaning to start one for ages but yknow.…life! I’ve actually always enjoyed writing and have had a few different blogs over the years. This one, however, will be an outlet to post more thorough glimpses of sessions and to content all about how you can have amazing photoshoots. So! lets get to it.
I want to share this GORGEOUS engagement session I took while visiting family in Kansas City over Christmas. Artem & Aziza were newly engaged and super cute. The temperatures were freeeezing so it must have been their love keeping them warm because I don’t know how they made it through this 2 hour shoot so gracefully in their cute little tops!
Honestly, I can hardly pick which photos to post there are so many cute shots! What I loved about these guys is they were having fun. That always creates the best, most natural photos.
My goal is to simply cultivate an atmosphere where a couple can be themselves and enjoy time together, then I’m just there to capture it.
Finally, as the sun went down, we found a beautiful little fountain. Did you know, Kansas City is known as the City of Fountains?? Always seemed kind of a random thing to me, but truly the fountains in the Plaza are something special.
These two troopers were definitely getting cold by the end of their session, but it just made them cuddle up even closer. I literally cant get enough of this whole shoot!!
We started the session at their favorite tree in Loose Park. Immediately I could see how in love they were as I asked them to just hang out and chat with each other while I got some candids. They clearly enjoyed each others company!
It was the dead of winter, but there were still tons of fallen leaves on the ground amidst a grove of stark trees. We decided to make the most of the color seeing as there wasn’t much around!
The vibe was *perfection* with the leaves, the hat, the picnic blanket…
We finished our time in the park with some up close and intimate moments, which are always my favorite to capture.
Then we high-tailed it to the warmth of our cars and headed to the Plaza!
We wandered through the streets, in search of a pretty fountain. The plaza is honestly one of the most picturesque cityscapes I’ve seen, so it was easy to find cute spots along the way, like this bench and Narnia-ish lantern!
They were so cute walking through the streets, hand-in-hand, Aziza skipping along while they sang a song in Russian that just completed the moment (even though I couldn’t understand a word!)
I could post so so many more from this one day alone, but I will leave a little to the imagination. Let me just say, it was enough to make me wish for more wintery, city sessions (while I write this from my tropical island home- i shouldn’t complain!)
Until next time!
